
Calendar of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Centre of Culture
July 9th , 2004 – signing of the intention letter concerning construction of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture in Białystok. Singatories of the agreement are The Council of the Podlasie Voivodeship, represented by the Marshal of the Podlasie Voivodeship Janusz Kazimierz Krzyżewski, the Voivode of Podlasie Marek Strzaliński and the Mayor of the City of Białystok Ryszard Tur.
October 25th, 2004 – the Parliament of the Podlasie Voivodeship passed a resolution stating the will to create „European Center of Music and Culture – the Podlasie Opera” (intentional resolution).
October 27th, 2004 – signing of the first agreement concerning the construction of „The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture”, the investment realized in cooperation with muncipality of Białystok and Building Rental Company „Deweloper” S.A.
January 14th, 2005 – announcement of the urban-architectural contest to create a construction project for „The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture”.
April 29th, 2005 – conclusion of the urban-architectural contest to create a construction project for „The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture”- won the project by prof. Marek Budzyński.
August 1st, 2005 – signing of the agreement concerning realization of the urban-architectural project of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic by the Marshal of the Podlasie Voivodeship Janusz Kazimierz Krzyżewski and the creator of winning construction project prof. Marek Budzyński.
August 29th, 2005 – statue and organizational rules of a new institution have been accepted by the Parliament of the Podlasie Voivodeship. The Białystok Philharmonic has changed its name to The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture in Białystok.
September 9th, 2005 – signing of the agreement concerning creating and co-financing The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic by the Minister of Culture Waldemar Dąbrowski and the Marshal of the Podlasie Voivodeship Janusz Kazimierz Krzyżewski took place during the festive concert of podlasie orchestra. The Opera received a statue of a national institution of culture as a first one in the Podlasie Voivodeship.
December 30th, 2005 – granting a building permit for construction of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture by the Mayor of the City of Białystok Ryszard Tur.
January 17th, 2006 – conclusion of the logo design contest for The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture in Białystok.
February 13th, 2006 – announcement of a general contractor bidding for The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture in Białystok.
April 22nd, 2006 – laying of the corner stone in the foundation of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic – European Center of Culture in Białystok.
January, 2008 – finished first stage of investment- unfinished building
2010/2011 year - planned opening of building of The Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic- European Centre of Culture
